Global Money Week Campaign

Liberia Rural Children Psychosocial Development Organization (LIRCPSDO) Inc. jointly held the Aflatoun International Day  and Global Money week campaign in Liberia on March 30, 2019 with youth, children and other youth group and community leaders and as well as  youth volunteers . The event was also attended by affiliating partners members, Kids for Peace , Netherlands and Global Youth Service Day, USA. The members or children actively participated in the event activities. These two affiliating organizations is headed by J.Dorlah Bolongei, Executive Director of LIRCPSDO in Liberia and as a volunteer head or representative in Liberia. Youth and children paraded in Duport Road community  with placards bearing advocacy and education messages on money matters and financial literacy and social inclusion as well as teaching young people and children on banking , savings, budgeting and  also encouraging them on business or entrepreneurship, as they talked to community members and leaders on the importance of inclusion of young and children on money matters. The were sessions on money and behavioral change or psychosocial and were facilitated by youth volunteers and one has just returned from Thailand from study with many skills, namely James Bundoo and who well facilitated one of the sessions and full of energizers and funs. There was question and answer period that helped the sessions to be interactive and educative. Seventy persons participated in the event activities and young people and children and other stakeholders, including boys and girls( 44 boys and 31 girls) .This campaign had one major challenge, T-shirts were not printed and some of the participants wore last year T-shirts for the activities.

Aflatoun International/Regional Meeting- Nairobi, Kenya

In August 2018, J. Dorlah Bolongei, Executive Director of  Liberia Rural Children Psychosocial Development Organization  attended a two day meeting in Nairobi, Kenya under the auspicies of Aflatoun International and Childfund Kenya, The meeting highlighted  the 2020 strategic roles and new partnership model of partners and network members on Social and Financial Education for all and for integrated social financial education into school and out of school especially for young people and children. The meeting brought together 31 members from English speaking countries.

Honoring Award

in December 2018, Liberia Business Center honored J. Dorlah Bolongei, Executive Director of LIRCPSDO for his invaluable services rendered to young people and children over the years in Liberia and host communities.
